Mural design and installation on MacCurtain Street for REZz Hotel Cork. We used the ‘Z’ typographic device from the REZz brand identity and set it in motion. The streetscape on MacCurtain is an eclectic mix of ornate Victorian premises such as the Gothic revival Metropole Hotel, and modernist architecture like Frank Murphy’s Thompson’s Bakery Swiss Roll Plant with its modular glazed patterns. The artwork engages with the street, by reflecting the visual motifs in a lively optical pattern.
